The second edition of the Louis Vuitton Watch Prize for Independent Creatives concluded this March with a ceremony in Paris. This award celebrating creativity, craftsmanship and innovation encourages artisans and entrepreneurs to become the next generation of independent watchmakers.
Once again this year, the timepieces in the running were assessed according to five criteria: design and aesthetics; creativity and boldness; technical innovation; details and finishings; as well as complexity and complications. After several months of deliberation, five finalists were selected to present their watches to members of the final jury.
Independent Swiss-based maison Hazemann & Monnin won the coveted trophy. Founded by Victor Monnin and Alexandre Hazemann, this workshop has been officially in operation since 2024.
Available in two distinct versions, their first Montre École creation features an HM01 movement entirely produced in-house, combining a minutes chime with instant jumping hours.
In a gesture symbolising the spirit of passing on knowledge that is core to the prize, winner of the first edition Raúl Pagès personally presented the trophy to the new laureates.
