Cendres+Métaux becomes CMSA

Since the start of the year, all companies in the Cendres+Métaux group have been operating under a common identity: CMSA, standing for Contract Manufacturing Solutions Alliance. The sites in Biel/Bienne, Boudry, La Chaux-de-Fonds, Saignelégier and Mittelhäusern each bear the new brand name, followed by the name of the location. All these companies are united under CMSA Holding.

This positioning goes well beyond a name change, instead reflecting what the group has built in recent years under the leadership of its CEO Philipp von Büren: namely a vertically integrated organisation with aligned processes, consolidated expertise, a clear strategic vision and a common culture. All entities now apply a harmonised organisational model and unified quality standards. This improved integration responds to customer demand for secure, simplified supply chains.

The group has global expertise in precious metals, offering more than 400 alloys, notably for the production of oscillating weights and rough-finished components for the watch industry. It also offers high-precision machining, a wide range of surface treatments, finishes and decorations, as well as assembly and packaging solutions, including clean room solutions for the medical sector. This industrial depth enables the most efficient process to be defined at the development stage and deployed consistently across multiple sites.

With the creation of a finishing centre bringing together sites in La Chaux-de-Fonds and Saignelégier, CMSA is further strengthening its expertise in watch cases, buckles/clasps and micromechanical components. The new inter-site centre dedicated to surface technologies increases the capacity to enhance and functionalise complex parts.

Amid a demanding environment, the group is building on its strengths: precision, mastery of materials, technological diversity and unified industrial organisation. Guided by its values of excellence, respect, inventiveness, agility and responsibility, CMSA provides long-term support to Swiss watch brands.
