Following the success of the first two editions, the “Autour du temps: les journées du savoir-faire horloger” event will be back from 9 to 11 October in Plan-les-Ouates. Organised by the municipality, this event that has become a must for watch enthusiasts and curious visitors of all ages will be expanded this year to highlight artistic crafts (miniature painting, enamelling, engraving).
In collaboration with the Geneva School of Watchmaking, students will also actively participate in the event alongside partner companies. As in the two previous editions, watch companies in the Plan-les-Ouates industrial zone will hold exceptionally open their doors to more than a hundred exclusive visits over three days. The event will feature guided tours tracing the history of the major Manufactures located in Plan-les-Ouates; fun and educational workshops for all ages; as well as talks on watchmaking expertise, innovations and the professions of tomorrow. An exhibition area will also be open to the public, inviting visitors to explore the different stages of watchmaking and discover the training courses leading to careers in the industry.
The event is completely free, but some activities, such as tours and workshops, require registration. The full programme will be released on 1 September (www.autourdutemps.ch) and registration will open on 22 September.
