Dietlin introduces Piece of Art

Horological masterpieces are often compared to artworks. Inspired by the world of galleries and major museums, the Vaud-based company innovates by presenting watches as paintings, without any protective glass – a bold and unprecedented approach in the watchmaking world.

This revolutionary presentation is based on Dietlin-patented “Free Access Bridge” technology. This unique system enables wristwatches to be displayed without a glass case, while ensuring optimal security.

The system is based on notched carbon staples that are kept under constant pressure by means of mini-motors. An accelerometer capable of measuring vibrations 40 times per second ensures that the object on display – whether a necklace, ring, bracelet or watch – is constantly monitored.

Each product is custom-fastened, with a precision motor serving to apply carefully calibrated pressure that helps retain the staple millimetre by millimetre . Once pressed down, the bridge remains secure until it is electronically opened by a sales assistant or customer using a smartphone or RFID badge.

This patented system opens up a whole new realm of possibilities for points of sale, transforming them into places of experience and discovery. Products can now be exhibited directly on a wall, a display or sales counter, like works of art to be admired... and touched.
