Variability in materials, manufacturing processes, observation and lighting conditions can influence the final perception of colour, making faithful reproduction complex and demanding for the human eye. Sectors such as watchmaking, cosmetics, luxury goods and the medical sector have growing needs in terms of colour control.
It is essential to ensure that manufactured products meet expected specifications in order to maintain impeccable quality and satisfy customer needs. To meet the demands of these markets, qmt has developed qmtcolor technology, a new tool for measuring perceived surface colour so that its control can be objectively assessed.
One of the key features of qmtcolor is its ability to perform comparative colour measurements on any surface type and size. The instrument’s optical system enables repeatable and simultaneous measurement of up to eight areas (from 0.01 to 20 mm). It is also possible to apply pixel pre-filtering to each area in order to select those one wishes to keep for characterisation.
