Richard Mille: Historic yacht racing 2024

The second edition of the Richard Mille Cup was held from 2 to 15 June. A fleet of a dozen historic yachts competed in various stages in the waters of the English Channel. This spectacular regatta once again offered a playground for the most elegant pre-war sailing yachts and schooners in competition.

Just as last year, the Cup attracted traditional enthusiasts, collectors and hundreds of spectators. Exciting coastal races took place in the four host ports: Falmouth, Dartmouth, Cowes and Le Havre.

The Richard Mille Cup celebrates the glory of yacht design and construction from a bygone era. Enthusiasts who witness the regatta were able to feast their eyes on some of the most stunning sailing yachts ever created, all of them maintained and crewed in an authentic classic style. It sets up a true racing environment in which all the differents yachts can thrive and perform as they were meant to.

Specially commissioned for the inaugural regatta, the metre-high Richard Mille Cup itself was designed by famous Garrard, jeweller to the British Royal Family for the last 300 years and designer of the America’s Cup some 170 years ago.
