For the first time, the Geneva-based company is presenting a (999-piece) limited edition timepiece produced in collaboration with an external creative talent. Legendary French designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac has instilled his inimitable style into the M.A.D.1 "Time to Love".
The designer's three emblematic colours – red for passion, blue for hope and yellow for human warmth – are featured on the newly designed rotor of this timepiece, while the hours disc sports a bright green shade. The numerals on the hours and minutes rings are in his own handwriting and the dial bears a quote from the artist, which translates as: "This rare and precious treasure is your life. Time flies with its white wings. You are the guardian of your time." On the crown, an engraving depicts an angel talking to the moon, a recurring theme in his artistic creations. Each watch will come with two straps – one black and one white – embroidered with the name of the creation: "Time to Love".
As with previous M.A.D. Editions, some of these watches are reserved for those who have made MB&F possible, namely members of The Tribe (owners of MB&F watches) and Friends (suppliers). Half of the production, on the other hand, is completely open to the public, via the same raffle system.
