The famous French brand is making its return to the America’s Cup as title partner of the Louis Vuitton 37th America’s Cup Barcelona. The world’s most prestigious sailing competition will start on 12 October 2024 off the coast of the Catalan capital.
Yet before any of the challengers earn the right to challenge the defender Emirates Team New Zealand (winner of the last edition), they will first have to battle it out in the preliminary regattas of the Louis Vuitton Cup. These will take place from 29 August to 7 October 2024 and will see five contenders battle it out on the waters of the Mediterranean: Ineos Britannia, Alinghi Red Bull Racing, Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli, NYYC American Magic and Orient Express Racing.
To mark the occasion, the brand will create the Louis Vuitton Cup trophy, which has been awarded to the winner of the eponymous competition since 1983, as well as two brand-new trophy trunks: one for the Louis Vuitton 37th America’s Cup Barcelona and the other for the challenger competition. Made to measure in the Louis Vuitton workshops in Asnières, they will respectively carry the famous silver ewer awarded to the winner of the America’s Cup and the trophy that will be awarded to the winner of the Louis Vuitton Cup. The latter will attempt to beat the defender Emirates Team New Zealand.
