Officine Panerai supports young sailors

Supporting the sailors of today and tomorrow, the Neuchâtel-based company rewarded two Swiss sailors at the seventh edition of the SUI Sailing Awards on February 13th.

For the first time, the award ceremony did not take the form of a gala evening, but instead a virtual road trip through the world of Swiss sailing.

Eric Monnin from Stäfa (ZH) received the award for “Male Sailor of the Year” and a 44mm Luminor Panerai. This all-rounder based on Lake Zug, who is delighted to be part of the watchmaking family, was crowned double European Match Race Champion. He has also won several Swiss, European and world championships in different boat classes.

Maud Jayet, who is currently training in Lanzarote, was also honoured in the category “Female Sailor of the Year”. The student from Lausanne, who was offered a 42mm Submersible Panerai, has managed to establish herself among the world’s Laser elite in recent years and has qualified for the next Olympic Games.

The SUI Sailing Awards are organised every two years under the patronage of Swiss Sailing and the Swiss sailing magazine Skippers voile & océan.
