Le Grand Cœur of Maurice de Mauriac

Daniel Dreifuss with his sons Massimo and Leonard

Grand Cœur is the name of the new watch from the Zurich-based brand Maurice de Mauriac.

It is seen as heralding a new era, since it is the first timepiece developed by founder Daniel Dreifuss’ sons Massimo (28) and Leonard (25), who are taking the reins of the company. This model is a tribute to their father’s work.

For their first launch, the Dreifuss brothers have opted for an in-house movement offering a high degree of transparency inside a case typical of Maurice de Mauriac. The heart of the watch beats behind the red sapphire crystal of the “L3 sees red”, the latest watch developed by their father.

It pulsates to the rhythm of the Concepto Manufacture Ref 3038 calibre: a self-winding movement with a central rotor oscillating at a rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour, endowed with an Incabloc shock absorber system and a 48-hour power reserve. For the Grand Cœur, the balance and escapement have been shifted to the top of the movement. The 45mm-diameter DLC-treated titanium case features a domed sapphire crystal and screw-in pushers. The strap is made of rubber with red stitching. Issued in a 48-piece limited edition, this watch is available online and in the Zurich studio.
