Venice International Film Festival 2019

Loyal as ever to the film world, Jaeger-LeCoultre served for the 15th consecutive year as Official Partner of the Venice International Film Festival. Held from August 28th to September 7th, this 76th edition dedicated to cinema attracted numerous celebrities.

Catherine Rénier, CEO of the brand, was present on this occasion alongside Nicholas Hoult and Nini, both friends of Jaeger-LeCoultre. During the opening ceremony, the watchmaker also showcased some of its most elegant and refined creations.

Jaeger-LeCoultre celebrated the 15th anniversary of this partnership in the heart of the city of the Doges. An intimate dinner was orchestrated in the exceptional setting of the Granai di Cipriani. Between sky and sea, on the Island of Giudecca, this fairytale place offers superb views of the lagoon and Saint Mark’s Square, perfectly reflecting the celestial theme chosen for the evening. The dinner was attended by various guests including actresses Amanda Seyfried and Alessandra Mastronardi. In an atmosphere filled with charm and refinement, everyone also witnessed the presentation of four new watches inspired by night stars, including the Master Grande Tradition Celestial Tourbillon.

At the closing ceremony, the watchmaker honoured Todd Philipps (Golden Lion for best film) as well as Ariana Ascaride and Luca Marinelli (Volpi Cup for best actors) with a personalised Reverso timepiece. Costa-Gavras, an illustrious Greek-French film director, was also awarded the Jaeger-LeCoultre Glory to the Filmmaker 2019 prize at a special ceremony held at the Palazzo del Cinema located on the Venice Lido. Created in 2007, this award recognises an artist who has particularly influenced the evolution of contemporary cinema.
