Ebel at the Ladies Open in Lausanne

This July, Ebel took part in the Ladies Open in Lausanne as the official watchmaking partner of the event.

The world of professional tennis has always been an emotional field for Ebel. Launched in the late 1970s, the original Sport Classic model brought a new identity to the sport-chic design and captured the energy, elegance and integrity of its time. Thanks to its “second skin” effect, this luxurious watch with its iconic design has become a timeless ally for generations of tennis champions.

In the 1980s, Ebel was synonymous with tennis. The brand was a pioneer in collaborating with the most renowned players and signing partnerships with prestigious tennis tournaments such as the Davis Cup, the Monte-Carlo Open and the Swiss Indoors Basel. Champions such as Yannick Noah, Andre Agassi and Boris Becker wore a timepiece from the Maison based in La Chaux-de-Fonds.

Although Ebel has created modern interpretations of the Sport Classic model, the watch had never been re-launched until 2017. This year, the Sport Classic Lady Blue Dial proved the ideal partner for the Ladies Open in Lausanne. Stainless steel and 18-carat gold are the perfect combination of sensuality and elegance, while the blue dial with its eight diamonds adds a retro-chic touch for a style that is both understated and sophisticated.
