Laboratoire Dubois provides new services

Laboratoire Dubois now provides thermal materials characterisation services as part of its research or investigations through the acquisition of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric and thermomechanical analysis (TMA) equipment.

The chemistry department of the company based in La Chaux-de-Fonds will be dedicated to this new activity. DSC is used to determine glass transition temperatures, melting and crystallisation temperatures and associated enthalpies. TGA measures the mass variation of a sample as a function of temperature. This analysis highlights the phenomena of desorption, oxidation and decomposition. TMA highlights dimensional changes with temperature and thus provides an estimate of the coefficient of thermal expansion.
