Return to roots for Eberhard & Co

In 1887, Georges-Lucien Eberhard founded Eberhard & Co in La Chaux-de-Fonds. At that time, the city was already considered worldwide as the cradle of watchmaking.

The baroque-inspired residence built by the founder brought together under the same roof the watchmaking workshops and the family home. The building, featuring an eagle on the top of its dome, was named the Maison de l’aigle and has been known as such ever since. The watch firm is now returning to its roots by relocating its headquarters in the heart of this historic building, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

To mark this return to its hometown, Eberhard & Co wished to restore to its former glory this building that has witnessed the most important moments in its history, by contributing to the restoration of its main emblems and signs, as well as its symbolic Eagle, which had deteriorated over the years.

The brand has decided to celebrate this return to its roots by launching a new calibre, the EB 140: a hand-wound movement with an exclusive design as well as specific technical and structural characteristics, synonymous with quality and durability. It now appears housed in a brand-new model in one of the most refined market segments, vintage style watches.

Swiss-made Calibre EB 140 represents the first step in a new phase of technical development that reflects the values that have always been at the heart of Eberhard & Co.
