A new Italian adventure sailing under the banner of the sea, excellence and innovation, is taking shape for the watchmaker through the partnership concluded with Luna Rossa.
A few months ago, this official challenger became the first to challenge the defending Team New Zealand champion to obtain the right to participate in the 36th edition of the America’s Cup.
Officine Panerai has become the official sponsor of Luna Rossa and will create a series of watches directly inspired by the technologies and materials used in the America’s Cup, the oldest sports competition in the modern world, but also one of the most avant-garde in terms of research and innovation.
The new Panerai Luna Luna Rossa Challenger watches will be worn by Luna Rossa team members and many sailing enthusiasts who are eagerly awaiting the America’s Cup World Series (ACWS), preliminary races that will precede the final scheduled in New Zealand in 2021. The first stage of the ACWS will take place in 2019 in Cagliari (Sardinia), where the headquarters of the Luna Rossa team are located. This will be an opportunity to see for the first time in competition the AC75, the new monohull that the Italian team will sail.
