Partnership between Luminox and ICE-SAR

Last March, Luminox announced its partnership with ICE-SAR, an Icelandic search and recuse organisation, encompassing units dedicated to mountain rescue and disaster prevention, as well as river, sea and air rescue.

For the institution’s employees, who are confronted with extreme natural conditions on a daily basis, time is a central factor because when a rescue is carried out, every second counts.

Inspired by emergency services, Luminox has developed an exclusive ICE-SAR Arctic 1000 series, consisting of five models. Their 46 mm diameter case is made of Carbonox. This exceptional carbon alloy, which the brand is alone in offering, makes these timepieces more robust and resistant, while offering them a lightness and hypoallergenic properties that steel cannot match. These Swiss made watches also feature scratch-resistant sapphire crystals and are water-resistant to a depth of 200 metres. A date window further increases their practical functionality.

In reference to the 90th anniversary celebrated this year by ICE-SAR, the special edition of the series is issued in a 900-piece limited edition. In addition to its evocative colours (ICE-SAR’s red and black colours), the respective number of each watch is engraved on the caseback, next to the association’s logo. Finally, the hour-markers at 9, 6 and 12 o’clock have been respectively replaced by the words “90 years”, the ICE-SAR logo and the emergency hotline number 112.
