Thanks to one of its loyal collectors, the company based in St. Imier has been reunited with Longines watch number 183, the oldest of its timepieces ever discovered. Its owner, Seiji K., a passionate American watch-lover, went to the brand’s headquarters to have the watch authenticated and to meet Walter von Känel, President of Longines, and Juan-Carlos Capelli, Vice-President and International Marketing Director of the firm.

This silver hunter-type pocket watch houses a key-winding mechanical movement. Thanks to its serial number, supplemented by the information recorded in the carefully preserved archive registers, Longines historians and watchmakers were able to certify the production year of the object: 1867, the year in which the company was founded. The object is in pristine condition and perfect working order. The traditional winged hourglass gracefully adorns its movement, while an engraving representing two coats of arms and a floral motif adorns its cover.
