Opening of the Bulgari Hotel Shanghai

Inaugurated in June 2018, the Bulgari Hotel Shanghai is the sixth gem in the Bulgari hotel collection. It is located on the banks of Suhe Creek, a rapidly evolving urban area created by OCT, the leading Chinese real estate developer, and encompassing residences, art spaces and parks.

Skilfully combining nature, contemporary design and traditional architecture, the complex comprises a 48-floor tower, the Shanghai Chamber of Commerce of which the original 1916 has been magnificently restored, as well as splendid gardens lining the area. The sky-scraper offers incredible views of the iconic Bund, the Pudong financial district and the spectacular bend in the River Huangpu as well as Suhe Creek. The eight top floors are dedicated to the hotel, while the Bulgari Residences occupy the lower floors. With this hotel, the famous Italian architects firm Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel – which has developed all the Bulgari Hotels & Resorts around the world – has created a glamorous contemporary masterpiece blending Bulgari’s distinctive Italian refinement with Shanghai’s rich past.

The 82 rooms of the hotel, including 19 suites, are among the most spacious in the city. Guests will enjoy the exceptional comfort of the modern furniture tailor-made by well-known Italian firms, combined with cutting-edge technology. Accessible via a private lift, the exceptional 400 sqm Bulgari suite offers a stunning perspective of the Shanghai city skyline and may be enlarged by linking it to an adjoining suite to create a 570 sqm residence.
The hotel has six prestigious restaurants located in the tower block as well as in the adjacent historical Shanghai Chamber of Commerce. The 2,000 sqm wellness space provides a restful haven in which to achieve the perfect balance between body, mind and soul in elegant Italian style. The spa comprises eight treatment rooms, sauna and relaxation areas, a manicure and pedicure salon, a barber’s and a hairdresser’s, as well as a 25m heated indoor pool and vitality pools, along with a personalised fitness studio.

Nestling in an exclusive setting surrounded by private gardens, historical buildings and art galleries, the hotel is a mere three-minute drive from the iconic Bund. The fashion boutiques on Nanjing Road, known as Shanghai’s Fifth Avenue, as well as the famous museums and theatres on People’s Square, are just ten minutes away. While enjoying the best of nature, art and life, guests will be within easy reach of Shanghai’s key attractions.
