Piaget rewards young talents from the HEAD

Jean-Pierre Greff, Léa Breysse and Philippe Léopold-Metzger

The prize-giving ceremony for the Piaget Jeunes Talents competition for students at the Geneva University of Art and Design – HEAD, rewarding the laureates in the Jewellery Design category, was held on November 14th at the Manufacture Piaget. It was notably attended by the brand’s non-executive chairman Philippe Léopold-Metzger and Jean-Pierre Greff, Director of HEAD-Geneva.

For this fifth edition, students were given carte blanche to design a model on the theme “Sunny Side of Life”, in relation with the iconic Piaget Sun and its radiance. The rich variety of resulting creations testify to the audacity and inventiveness of the students who took up the challenge.

The first prize was awarded to Léa Breysse for her “Radiance” project, earning her a three-month internship at the Piaget design studio. The runners-up were Julia La Mendola and her project title “Rayos”, and Emile Heger with her “Crépuscule” (Dusk) creation.

At a time when graduates will be embarking upon their careers via various routes, the support of companies and brands such as Piaget proves decisive in propelling them one step further and confronting them with the professional realities of their discipline. This backing is grounded in the longstanding dies between the school and various Maisons who have set themselves the mission of following and encouraging the up-and-coming generation in the realm of design and creation.
