Hublot Design Prize

To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the launch of the Big Bang, the Nyon-based firm launched the Hublot Design Prize in 2015

This award, considered a significant career booster, aims to highlight the talent of an already accomplished designer, offering him or her the visibility needed to rank them among the greatest names in the domain.

For its third edition, the Hublot Design Prize rewarded Carolien Niebling and her work “The Future Sausage”. The jury also saluted the work of Jessi Reaves with a special prize worth 25,000 Swiss francs.

This year the Hublot Design Prize ceremony was held in the Serpentine Gallery summer pavilion that is annually redesigned by well-known architects and designers who have never previously built anything in the United Kingdom. This year, the building flowed from the imagination of the talented Burkina Faso architect Francis Kéré. On previous occasions, Zaha Hadid, Frank Gehry, Jean Nouvel, Peter Zumthor, Herzog & de Meuron, to mention but a few, had also shared their vision of design and architecture with the public at large. It was in this highly appropriate setting that Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO of the watch brand, officially presented the Hublot Design Prize 2017 to Carolien Niebling: a 100,000 Swiss francs cheque intended to support her work.
