Hublot in the wings of the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix

The World Star Football Match Monaco has been played for each of the past 25 years in the wings of the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix race.

This is a friendly competition which brings together on the pitch some thirty celebrities and athletes. Led by Prince Albert II, the AS Star Team for Children combined the speed of motorcycle racer Loris Capirossi, Italian racing cyclist Claudio Chiapucci and the tactical skill of international footballers like William Gallas, Diego Simeone, Olivier Dacourt, Ludovic Giuly, Patrice Loko and Francesco Toldo.

Prince Albert II’s team won the day against the World F1 Driver’s Association with a score of 2-1. The team brought together all the talent and performance of first class athletes such as Mika Häkkinen, Mick Schumacher, Daniel Ricciardo, to name just a few, united alongside racing driver Felipe Massa.

The referee’s panel on the edge of the pitch bore the Hublot symbol while the signboards around the pitch also sported the black and white colours of the watch brand. The match was played in relays, giving all the players wearing the jersey in Hublot colours an opportunity to take their turn on the pitch of the Louis II Stadium. Prominent figures and athletes united in a good cause enabled funds to be raised for various charitable associations, thanks to the strength of their kicking.
