Acrotec purchases H2i

The Acrotec Group and Petitpierre SA have announced the acquisition of the H2i company specialising in the development of customised precision measuring tools for mechanical watches, known under the ONEOF brand name.

H2i develops measuring instruments to meet specific needs in the field of chronometry (precision timing) and magnetism. As part of the group, the firm will be able to focus on the development of its instruments. Whatever the use of the machine, considerable attention is devoted to design. The IT interface is extremely ergonomic and the instruments are all of the Plug & Play type. In parallel, the company has developed ONEOF, a line of measuring tools, serving to check watches’ precision and to demagnetise them. H2i customers are mainly watch brands and labs, while the ONEOF range is intended for collectors and boutiques.

The incorporation of H2i within the group enables Acrotec to add a further string to its bow by becoming involved in chronometric measurement.

Emmanuel Baudet and Jean-Charles Rousset founded H2i (Horlogerie Innovation Instrumentation) in June 2014. They worked on a number of joint projects involving major, complex and extremely avant-garde horological oscillators. Together, they took up substantial challenges within tight deadlines. The results clearly demonstrated that in watchmaking, any innovation implies accurate measurement. Their highly complementary product development, design and interface skill-sets rapidly enabled them to offer Swiss watch manufacturers a range of carefully tailored, high-performance and well-built tools. Several worldwide patents have been registered, notably relating to new methods of measuring the precision of mechanical watches, thus enabling the young firm to establish strong partnerships with major watch brands.
