LVMH inaugurates a new watchmaking school

On 18 November, TAG Heuer and Zenith inaugurated a new watchmaking school established at the heart of the TAG Heuer workshops in La Chaux-de-Fonds.

Inspired by Jean-Claude Biver, Chairman of the LVMH Group’s Watches Division, and Chantal Gaemperle, Director of Human Resources and Synergies and a member of the Executive Committee of the LVMH Group, the LVMH Watchmaking School offers an original training concept combining an apprenticeship in contact with two manufacturing companies which differ in their products, cultures, size and DNA; access and exposure to other watchmaking houses and to the group’s different professional activities through master classes organised under the aegis of the Institute for Excellence of Workmanship; training and certification take place within the official apprenticeship organisation of CIFOM, a recognised training institution based at Le Locle.

The twelve first apprentices to complete the course this year will benefit from an enlarged programme with additional courses coordinated by their two trainers: firstly, the watchmaking heritage and craft trades tradition of Zenith and secondly the avant-garde and innovative spirit of TAG Heuer.
