One million litigious advertisements taken down

Since the start of the year, the Internet Unit at the FH has been redoubling its efforts to "clean up" the web, even in its most obscure corners.

Thanks to the improved tools which facilitate notification of litigious advertisements, it passed the landmark total of one million withdrawn advertisements at the end of August last. A record! Incidentally, some 650,000 advertisements had already been reported in 2015, an unrivalled achievement at the time. The tool managing the beating is certainly efficient; but the fact remains that this result is explained in large measure by the prominent presence of counterfeiters on the social networks. The Internet Unit intervenes directly with the social networks to report the observed trends to them.

Moreover, since the end of 2015, the work done by new forces attached to the FH Hong Kong office has enabled the Chinese platforms to be added to our searches. The next big challenge will be to attack the Chinese social networks that are being used on a massive scale by the fraudsters.
