Changes in Affolter Group management

On 1st January, members of the fourth generation of the family holding company took control

General management of Affolter Pignons, active in the manufacture of gear-trains for watches, is now assured by Grégory Affolter, while Affolter Technologies (machines and CNC) is run by Vincent Affolter. Together with Nicolas Curty, CEO of AFManagement since 2004, they form the group management.

Marc-Alain and Michel Affolter, the two former directors, remain active within the group in other operational capacities, as does their brother Jean-Claude, who stepped aside in 2014.

The firm was founded in 1919 by Louis Affolter and has been in family hands ever since. The changeover from second to third generation took place in 1985. The three sons of Louis then passed on the torch to the three sons of Marc Affolter. In the past thirty years the group has developed considerably. Manpower has risen from 17 to 170 employees, while floor space of the group’s industrial buildings has increased from 500 to 8,000 square metres. During the same period, four companies have been added to Affolter Pignons: Affolter Technologies in 1991, AFManagement in 2004, Affolter Holding in 2005 and Affolter China in 2013, whose head office is in Shanghai.
