Gallet returns for a new era of “Wanderlust”

Founded in 1826 and acquired by Breitling in 2025, the Swiss watch manufacturer is experiencing a renaissance exactly two centuries after its founding. Ahead of its official return on 3 September, Gallet has unveiled its new creative identity. Derived from the German words “wandern” (to walk, to explore) and “lust” (ardent desire), “Wanderlust” is more than just a desire to travel. It is the instinct to step outside the ordinary; to leave the noise behind and to seek out what lies beyond.

Right from the outset, Gallet has been shaped by the call of travel and adventure. From the early days of aviation to great ocean crossings, from motor racing to sailing and exploration, its chronographs have accompanied those pushing the boundaries of the known world. Across two centuries, the brand has created sturdy timepieces that remain reliable amid hostile conditions and ever-changing environments.

The brand is now back with a new website. As of 22 July, adventurers, photographers and filmmakers from around the world will share their stories through weekly columns. Whether observing elephants with Donald Boyd; paragliding across the Himalayas with Benjamin Kellett; crossing Antarctica with Benjamin Hardman; or photographing wildlife in Nairobi with Dhir Jakharia: Gallet’s explorers are setting off on adventures to the four corners of the globe.

Within the House of Brands, Gallet is Breitling’s entry-level luxury sister brand and will be able to draw on its global distribution network, as well as its after-sales service. From September, selected Breitling boutiques will also feature Gallet spaces, enabling customers to discover this new world dedicated to escapist travel and adventure.
