The Espace Horloger – Vallée de Joux was reopened

On December 12th 2019, the Espace Horloger – Vallée de Joux was reopened to the public after an 18-month closure.

This period of time enabled a sweeping redevelopment of the museum, aimed in particular at the restructuring necessary to ensure its smooth operation and modernity.

By offering a new and modern scenography, a permanent exhibition featuring more than a hundred pieces, as well as temporary exhibitions, the museum wants to play its role as a showcase for the heritage of the Joux Valley.

Thanks to enhanced security and the support of its partners, the Espace Horloger has been able to build up a collection of prestigious timepieces, including a reproduction of “L’Universelle”, an authentically prestigious watch.

The Vaud-based company took advantage of this period of reorganisation to modernise and optimise the tour available to the public. Touch screens have been installed to enable visitors to view the timepieces and discover the complications of famous Joux Valley watchmakers. Through cultural mediation, educational workshops for all ages and other new features, the museum also wishes to bring understanding and knowledge of this world within reach of everyone.
