H. Moser & Cie offers 8,300 books to Room to Read

Because children are a wonderful catalyst for change and because, through education, it is possible to create a greater sense of responsibility and to modify behaviour, the company has decided to collaborate with Room to Read.

The international organisation is transforming the lives of millions of children in low-income communities by focusing on literacy and gender equality in education. Since its inception in 2000, it has helped 16.6 million children in 16 different countries to reach their potential through education.

Before the SIHH, Moser & Cie had committed to funding the publication of ten books per visitor in place of the traditional souvenir gift. Through an application, each visitor was invited to make a symbolic contribution by pressing the “Donate 10 books” button. In this way the Maison contributed to the distribution of a total of 8,300 books.

Room to Read works in collaboration with local communities, partner organizations, and governments to develop literacy skills and a habit of reading among primary school children and ensure girls can complete secondary school with the skills to succeed in school and beyond. Room to Read’s Literacy Program ensures schools have libraries filled with books in children’s local languages as well as trained teachers and librarians.

H. Moser & Cie and Room to Read share a common vision: education as the key to change, a driver helping pool all available strengths so as to raise up the world. This partnership will continue to grow through different initiatives including the creation of unique pieces to be auctioned at the galas organised by Room to Read throughout the year.
