Encouraging results for #bepog

The Cantons of Bern, Jura, Neuchatel and Vaud have made a priority of enhancing industry and related technical professions as part of the regional policy programme of the Jura Arc region.

With this in mind, they decided to implement and fund an action plan in close cooperation with the regional industrial fabric. It was officially launched on January 31st 2014. Four years later, Valmetech has become #bepog, results to date are encouraging and its future looks bright.

Since January 2014, the industry information and promotion office of the Jura Arc and its professions has been set up by Faji SA in cooperation with arcjurassien.ch and the cantons. Endowed with marketing and communication skills along with a sound knowledge of technical professions, it has become a central stakeholder for all issues relating to industry, its professions and its technical training courses. It serves to liaise between cantonal administrations, companies and providers of activities intended for young people. The programme encompasses 12 activities intended for four target audiences.

Since the start of 2018, #bepog has been developing new activities reaching out to new audiences. So far extra-curricular youth activities, school classes, teachers and girls have been the main groups targeted by the programme. As of now, young people in difficulty, transitional schools, career guidance and parents are also concerned, as well as the public at large.

New activities open to all have also been put in place, such as holiday ‘passports’ providing a chance to raise young people’s awareness of technical professions over a longer period; Boost’Ing, featuring a number of videos playfully featuring the omnipresence of technology in our daily lives; as well as partnerships with career guidance organisations serving to address parents.
