Concerned by the preservation of the sea turtles, Certina unveiled last summer its partnership with the Sea Turtle Conservancy association. The heart of this collaborative endeavour is the project for monitoring the migration of these creatures, called the “Turtle Tour”.
Keen to support the objectives of this ecological organisation, the watch brand plays an active role in its wide-scale conservation, awareness-raising and educational projects.
Sea Turtle Conservancy has been involved for more than 60 years in the study and protection of sea turtles and their habitats. Its project consists of following more than ten of these reptiles for around three months, as soon as they leave their nesting beaches in search of food. During this exciting marathon, these animals strive to swim the greatest possible distance, while the public can follow the individual progress of each turtle, which is tracked by satellite.
