Rado Star Prize for Young Talents

As part of the Rado Star Prize for Young Talents, the watch company closely followed the nomination of the seven projects put forward by young people in their final year of studies, as well as by promising start-ups.

Their work will be presented on November 3rd at the Swiss Design Prize ceremony held in Langenthal. An exclusive collection of timepieces from the brand, made in cooperation with six international designers – including the Rado True Phospho, designed in conjunction the Lausanne-based Big-Game studio – will also be unveiled.

The Rado Star Prize for Young Talents is intended for young designers, whatever their field. David Colombini (Attachement), Xénia Lucie Laffely (Psycho slut wicca bitch. We are not angry, just self-reliant), Ini Archibong (In the Secret Garden – Jadis Lighting Sculpture), Jordane Vernet (SteriLux – Affordable sterilization device for developing countries), Beatrice Sierach (Intercultural link – Über die Rolle der Designer/innen in sozialen Projekten), Martin Noël and Tibo Smith (Milvus Milvus) as well as Selina Peyer (begreifbar) all managed to stand out from the rest.

The nominated projects were chosen after a debate by 24 independent experts and a jury composed of six personalities: Liesbeth in’t Hout (co-director, Sandberg Institute, Amsterdam), Wolfgang K. Meyer-Hayoz (Meyer-Hayoz Design Engineering Group, Winterthur), Lars Müller (Lars Müller Publishers, Zurich), Doreen Lorenzo, Nils Holger Moormann (Designer and entrepreneur, Aschau) and Demna Gvasalia (founder of Vetements and Artistic Director Balenciaga).
