Tissot at the Unspunnen Festival 2017

For more than a week, from August 26th to September 3rd, the traditional Swiss disciplines were celebrated at the Unspunnen Festival, Switzerland’s biggest folklore festival of the year.

As official watch of this event which is held every 12 years, Tissot closely followed the demonstrations of stone throwing, hornussen (a game resembling a mixture of gold and baseball), alphorn playing, flag-throwing, folk dancing and yodel.

No less than 90,000 spectators from the four corners of Switzerland came to celebrate as well as to discover sometimes forgotten disciplines. On the legendary “Höhematt” square, visitors also had a chance to discover the Tissot timepiece collection specially dedicated to the event. Matthias Sempach, national wrestling “king” and friend of the brand; Doris Leuthard, President of the Swiss Confederation; well as young Swiss athlete Remo Käser, were also in attendance.
