Cooperation with the Montreux Jazz Festival

In 2007, Parmigani Fleurier associated for the first time with the Montreux Jazz Festival and laid the foundations for a unique alliance between the world of watchmaking and that of music.

A decade has gone by and the watch brand is reaffirming the values that bind it to this event: a spirit of curiosity and openness to worldwide cultures, a mission to cultivate craftsmanship and the pursuit of harmony, as well as the desire to share the works of their founders who wished to pass on their passion as widely as possible, well beyond borders.

Lauren Hill, the Pet Shop Boys, Grace Jones, Macy Gray, Erykah Badu, London Grammar, Youssou N’Dour, Tom Jones... are just a few of the artists who gave life to this 51st edition of the Montreux Jazz Festival, which was held from June 30th to July 15th and once again demonstrated the unifying power of music. As Global Partner of the event, Parmigiani Fleurier welcomed clients, partners and friends to its newly redecorated loggia throughout the 16 days of unforgettable concerts.

To celebrate these ten years of partnership, Parmigiani Fleurier presented an MJF Special Edition featuring the black and white theme of the 2017 billboard. This year, the Festival had called upon the mystifying talents of the French artist Malika Favre, who chose to depict dancing women in a fascinatingly contrasted manner. Hidden behind the energetic lines of these swaying bodies are six musical instruments that are revealed to those who take time to look carefully. Parmigiani Fleurier decided to play with this contrast on its new Tonda Métrograph which features a white date window on a black dial, teamed with a black strap featuring white topstitching. Each caseback of the models composing this 20-piece limited series is engraved with the inscription “Montreux Jazz Festival”. In accordance with tradition, these models were officially gifted after the concerts to well-known artists as well as up-and-coming names in the world of music.
