Last November, on the occasion of Art Basel Miami, Audemars Piguet unveiled "Reconstruction of the Universe", a new installation by the Chinese artist Sun Xun placed on the seashore.
Present on this occasion, François-Henry Bennahmias, Managing Director of the brand, and Olivier Audemars, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors, celebrated this event in the company of a few thousand guests, including Serena Williams, Audemars Piguet ambassadress, Katie Holmes, an American actress, and the French DJ Martin Solveig.
Regarded as a rising star in the Chinese artistic universe, Sun Xun is acknowledged for his mastery of many different domains and his experimental working techniques. He was able to produce the "Reconstruction of the Universe" with the help of more than one hundred art students. The development and presentation of the installation were completed in cooperation with the artist’s three galleries, Sean Kelly Gallery of New York, ShanghART Gallery in Shanghai and Singapore and the Edouard Malingue Gallery in Hong Kong.
