Gran Premio Nuvolari

The 25th Gran Premio Nuvolari classic car race took place on 16 to 18 September. Eberhard & Co was in attendance as the timekeeper and official partner of the event since its inception in 1991.

Organised by Mantova Corse, ACI Mantova and the Tazio Nuvolari Museum, the rally was held over a 1,050 km route, from the Tyrrhenian Sea to the Adriatic. It passed through several cities in Tuscany, the Marche and Romagna, including Mantua, Carrara, Forte dei Marmi, Pisa, Sienna, Arezzo, Città di Castello, Urbino, Rimini and Ferrara. Over 300 historical vehicles, built between 1919 and 1969, took part. Their drivers, who came from all over the world, competed on some of the peninsula’s most scenic highways.

The watchmaking company’s ambassador, Miki Biasion, world rally champion in 1988 and 1989, took part in this event alongside Mario Peserico, the Managing Director of Eberhard. They teamed up on board an Alfa Romeo 1900 C Super Sprint.

During this edition, the brand presented a new initiative designed by the 8 Steering Wheels Club (“8 Volanti”) of Mantua in the form of a concours d'élégance whose aim was to involve the public and highlight the historical and cultural features exemplified by these period vehicles.

As the highly sought-after and merited prizes for a unique and special race, two beautiful Tazio Nuvolari timepieces were presented to the winners on the finishing line.
